With "Supermatch", the new single (release date: 2nd of May, 2025) by SICK OF SOCIETY, the band shows a completely unexpected side.
The band, which otherwise stands for uncompromising musicial declarations of war and political content, concentrates on the inside of the human psyche in this song and addresses the phenomenon of
"fear of commitment", which is common in today's world. Often it is personal negative experiences and our own demons that we drag into interpersonal relationships and thus intoxicate them!
As a scenario for this, an initially banal Tinder match was chosen, which ultimately culminates in a rude awakening.
Two people who get closer to each other, but have nothing but bad experiences and traumas as common ground - a toxic match!
Musically, the band is as biting as usual in "Supermatch". The driving beat, the sinister harmony arcs and the drooling vocals seem modern and underline the already gloomy theme. This effect is
reinforced by female vocals in the chorus (Elena from BYRA*) and a melancholic sounding string section that supports the guitars in the outro.
SICK OF SOCIETY turn their inner self inside out and deal with a topic that should seem familiar to all of us in some way.
